Security at Bayou Haven
At Bayou Haven, your safety and peace of mind are a top priority. With over 350 weddings hosted, we’re proud to say we’ve never experienced any major security issues. That said, there have been 10–12 events where having professional security on-site proved essential. Most of these involved medical situations, but in a few cases, their presence helped de-escalate family disputes—ensuring a smooth and stress-free celebration.
We work exclusively with active-duty officers from the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office, and every officer scheduled at our venue is familiar with our layout and event flow. This is especially important, as one of their key roles is overseeing and managing guest parking. Their presence not only enhances security but also ensures a seamless and efficient arrival experience for your guests, especially given the size of our parking area.

How much does security cost?
Security officer rates are set by Rapides Parish and apply to all local venues that require security services. Currently, the rate is $40 per hour, per officer. This rate is subject to change and will be confirmed by the security team when they speak to you as your wedding date approaches.

Can I bring in my own security officers?
No. We will handle all scheduling of your security coverage for your wedding on your behalf. We work exclusively with a trusted pool of six active-duty officers who have been specifically trained at our venue and are thoroughly familiar with our parking areas and facility layout.
For the safety of you, your guests, and our staff, security is required for all weddings, and we are unable to make exceptions to this policy.
