While we highly recommend hiring a professional caterer for your wedding, we understand that some families prefer to provide their own food for the reception—and that is allowed at Bayou Haven.
That said, there are a few important things to keep in mind:
• Our kitchen is not a cooking kitchen—it’s designed for prep and serving only. All hot food must be brought in fully cooked and ready to serve. We do not have equipment to heat or cook food onsite. However, you are welcome to use our outdoor cooking area if you’re bringing your own burners or cookers.
• Without a caterer, your family or volunteers will be responsible for managing food setup, service, and cleanup. The kitchen must be returned to the same clean condition in which it was received. Please make sure your helpers are aware of this responsibility.
A kitchen closing checklist is posted on the wall to help guide cleanup at the end of the night. Be sure to review it before the event so there are no surprises.

We are using an outside rental company—can they drop off or pick up items outside of the rental period?
Because Bayou Haven is a private venue and not staffed outside of scheduled events, all deliveries and pickups must take place during your contracted rental period.
Please make sure your rental company and other vendors are aware of this policy when planning their delivery and pickup schedules.

Using beer kegs is a great option! Not only can it help you save money compared to individual cans, but it also adds convenience and reduces waste.

That depends on how many guests will be drinking beer and how much you expect them to consume. A standard keg holds 15.5 gallons, which equals approximately 198 10 oz. servings. For example, if 50 guests are drinking beer, one keg would provide each person with around four servings.
